Job Overview
The Assistant Category Manager - FMCG supports category strategy, sales growth, profitability, market presence and operational performance across assigned brands and product categories. The role works closely with sales teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve category performance, monitor market trends, manage promotional activities and support the execution of commercial plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Support annual sales and category plans in coordination with the sales team and business objectives.
- Monitor category performance, sales trends, stock movement and IMS data.
- Support promotional product selection and category initiatives.
- Assist with trade marketing plans, budgets, promotional spending and claims follow-up.
- Coordinate with suppliers on category activities, performance updates and operational requirements.
- Prepare sales performance updates, category reports, coverage reports and business review presentations.
- Analyze market sales data to support category decisions.
- Track slow-moving items and support corrective action plans for stock health.
- Participate in S&OP follow-up related to stock levels, shipments and product availability.
- Support point-of-sale material execution and in-store visibility follow-up.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in category management, brand management, trade marketing or FMCG commercial operations.
- FMCG industry experience is preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.
