Job description
- Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by client facility's policies, procedures, or protocols and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice.
- Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by the physician in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with other health team members in an effort to maintain patient's ongoing plan of care.
- Provides ongoing education to patient and family and customized to patient /families ability to learn and retain.
- Documents patient's assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
- Initiates and participated in emergency resuscitative measures according to protocol.
- Maintains current competency in medical surgical nursing.
- Assists doctors in medical and surgical diagnostic procedures by preparing patients and getting ready with required items.
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice, and report illegal, incompetent or impaired practices.
