Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) - August 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the DBS Leadership Team with the authority to implement safeguarding measures.
- Provide training and support to staff, ensuring effective safeguarding procedures across all divisions.
- Develop strong relationships with school leadership and safeguarding teams in each division to implement best practices.
- Maintain and enhance safeguarding policies, reporting procedures, and compliance measures.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of safeguarding concerns using the CPOMS platform.
- Manage safeguarding investigations, including low-level concerns and allegations.
- Analyse safeguarding data trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with external regulators and child protection agencies.
- Ensure inspection readiness by preparing for external reviews and audits.
- Act as a source of expertise and provide guidance to staff, students, and parents on safeguarding matters.
- Participate in the Cognita Middle East Safeguarding Network, collaborating with colleagues in Health & Safety, HR, and Inclusion to uphold safeguarding standards.
