Role Purpose:
The Head of Replenishment is responsible for heading the replenishment team and assisting with the development of the replenishment strategy and processes and ensuring its implementation. The role holder is also responsible for using best practices to optimize the goods flow to the stores.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Receive medium- and long-term sales forecast from the commercial team showing a detailed expected quantity
Review and enrich data based on historical records, actual market dynamics and challenge back when needed
Work closely with the merchandise team to develop the most accurate forecast
Set forecast accuracy targets and measure actual results, put plans to improve accuracy and reflecting the planned commercial plans
Work closely with suppliers to improve their service parameters to reduce any potential impact & enhance service level
Coordinate with supplier on buying opportunities to secure future needs for products expected to run in short
For promotional products, issue Purchase orders to be delivered as per the activity plan and in line with our storage capabilities
Flag any risks related to expected shortages driven by supplier or any other factors
For regular products, define the stock boundaries based on set criteria and market updates related to availability
Daily revision for stock and assure placing the needed orders timely to secure our stock
Complete tracking for all orders that are under delivery to assure proper follow up on delivery
· Monitor actual sales performance and adjust our stock strategy based on customer behavior changes
· Adjust products replenishments either from supplier to DC or from DC to stores based on the market need and safety stock guidelines
· Flag any overstock driven by slow rate of sales or over stocking, highlight short shelf-life risks that may create destruction & losses
· Continuously work on improving the forecast accuracy by spotting the poor planned categories to enhance performance
· Coordinate with Merchandising team to negotiate minimum order quantities and delivery terms to improve availability and assortment
· Analyze products performance, reflect slow moving and poor performance products to be discontinued
· Accountable for the inventory value to land within the set target and avoid any leaps that impact working capital
· Synchronize the suppliers' deliveries to be in line with the DC receiving capacities and assure well utilization for resources with no extra cost
· Manage the stores orders to be in line with the set guidelines in term of quantity and timing
· Issue supplier performance reports, meet the suppliers and address issues to help solving problems
· Maintain an updated maser data for all the products to be used as the sole source for all the supply chain organization
· Manage a dynamic team of supervisors and planners and assure their engagement to work plans
Report weekly and monthly to local and central team the performance results and corrective action plans
Share the monthly KPI’s results, provide analysis for issues and assign tasks for improvements when needed
Ensure the implementation of the performance management process
Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
Identify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
Oversee the development and implementation of on the job-training
Ensure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives
Provide inputs while developing MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures and monitor the implementation
Personal Characteristics and Required Background:
Minimum Qualifications/education
· bachelor's degree in commerce / Retail Management / Demand Planning
Minimum experience
10+ years managing a replenishment department in a retail or FMCG company
5+ years in retail business
