Lab Technician - Concrete Ready Mix
Job Summary
- The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting quality control tests on concrete and its components to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- \ This role involves precise laboratory work, data analysis, and contributing to the overall quality of the concrete produced.
Responsibilities
- • Sample Preparation: Collect, prepare, and store concrete and aggregate samples for testing.
- • Concrete Testing: Perform a variety of tests on fresh and hardened concrete, including:
- o Slump test
- o Air content test
- o Compressive strength test
- o Flexural strength test
- o Unit weight
- o Water-cement ratio
- • Aggregate Testing: Conduct tests on aggregates to assess their properties, such as:
- o Sieve analysis
- o Specific gravity
- o Absorption
- o Moisture content
- • Quality Control: Maintain accurate records of test results and identify any deviations from quality standards.
- • Equipment Calibration: Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- • Safety: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent.
- • Previous experience in a concrete laboratory preferred.
- • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- • Basic math and computer skills.
- • Knowledge of concrete technology and industry standards.
- • Experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
