Task Force Safe Journeyman Electrician - Iraq
Details
- Perform electrical inspections and repairs for LIFE, HEALTH, SAFETY deficiencies in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and British Standard 7671
- Conduct electrical system assessments at US Military and coalition occupied facilities across the CENTCOM AOR, including hardstand buildings, semi-permanent, and temporary facilities
- Identify non-compliant electrical installations that pose potential hazards such as deaths, injuries, or fires
- Re-inspect facilities that failed previous inspections and provide corrective action for electrical deficiencies
- Report all inspections and repairs to Versar’s TF SAFE Program Office
- Provide emergency electrical repairs when necessary to ensure safety
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Journeyman Electrician state license from the US
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its application in construction, with an emphasis on bonding and grounding
- Familiarity with UFC 3-520-01, NFPA 70-2008, NEC 60 Hz systems, and BS7671 17th Edition for 50 Hz systems
- Basic computer skills including MS-Excel, MS-Word, and MS-Outlook
- Experience in international settings, particularly in the CENTCOM AOR, is preferred
- Ability to work under austere conditions in remote areas of CENTCOM
- Must be eligible for a US Secret Security Clearance
Requirements
- Must pass a medical screening physical
- Valid US Passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining
- Must pass a background check and receive US government clearance
- Must be willing to commit to a one-year employment term in the CENTCOM AOR with two, two-week Rest and Relaxation periods
