Application Engineer
Job Summary:
Applies advanced knowledge of technical engineering principles and practices in the identification and understanding of client requirements to manage the development of technical specifications, implementing designs, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ solutions.
Interfaces with sales team to design and deliver client solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Knowledge - Knowledge of products and product lines.
Able to represent the features and benefits of the products in terms a customer will understand.
Knowledge of how the product functions and the technology used.
Cross-Functional Design Review - Able to carry out and coordinate a cross-functional design review at an advanced level and in a wide range of work situations without guidance.
Able to train and coach others in developing and applying cross-functional design review on a limited basis.
Analyse Issues - Solid understanding of how to analyse issues. Demonstrates use of analysis skills to learn and analyse information in a timely way.
Understands complex concepts and problems and identifies how they relate to key processes. Applies accurate logic in solving problems.
Manage Customer Relationships - Uses appointment tracking system, documents call plans, meeting notes and action items. Has established rapport, delivered on commitments, and developed a positive
relationship with customers
Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with identified customer exceptions.
Implementing designs, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solitons integrated with customers’ solitons.
Communication - Can effectively and clearly communicate in both written and verbal means.
Provide practical advice, proposals, and solutions to the customers to select the correct equipment at the most competitive price and in line with Cummins product availability.
Estimate and offer turnkey Power Solutions.
Has knowledge/experience in Microsoft & AutoCAD.
Engineering, design, and documentation of system solution for power generation.
Projects, covering the commercial side as well and do value engineering considering local value add.
Establish proper relationship with the local suppliers and request from them quotation and assistance for the local accessories and equipment.
Visit consultants and provide them with Cummins product specs especially at the design stage of the projects.
Customer relationship management.
Effective, technical assistants for customer/sales team.
Visit customer sites for issues related to site application, engineering, and Genset sizing aspects.
Understanding of market specific regulations (norms, standards, emission regulations, import regulations).
Clear understanding of available products within the market and the ability to design solutions around them.
Support marketing activities with technical input.
Maintains knowledge of products, technologies, and policies.
Tracking and reporting of trends, business conditions and account status, which will affect future sales, supports in sales strategy development for the region.
Support of installation and commissioning planning.
Project tracking and reporting on a regular base to senior management
Requirements:
4+ years' of similar experience
Based in Kuwait
