ABOUT THE EBU SPORT DEPARTMENT
- The EBU Sport is the most trusted and well-established media partner for international sport federations and event organizers seeking the widest reach of audiences across Europe and throughout the world.
- EBU Sport exploits, manages and develops commercially the acquisition and sales of sports rights deals (for all platforms including radio) and provides high-quality services.
- As part of the EBU Sport, the Summer Sports and Cycling Rights Unit overlooks in full responsibility the Summer Sports (covering notably Athletics, Aquatics, Gymnastics and many others summer sports) and Cycling rights acquisition and contract servicing on behalf of the EBU Members and third-party broadcasters.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
- The (Senior) Sports Rights Manager / Summer Sports assists the Head of Summer Sports and Cycling in the identification, management and delivery of all aspects (acquisition processes, negotiations with rights-holders, discussions with broadcasters/members, sales, sublicensing, operations etc.) regarding the exploitation of the EBU Summer Sports and Cycling rights portfolio (currently comprising very prestigious events such as World and European Athletics Championships, World and European Aquatics Championships, World and European Gymnastics Championships, Tour de France, Vuelta and Cycling World Championships) and/or any other sports rights projects in agreement with Management.
- She/he supports and takes part with the Head of Summer Sports and Cycling in negotiations and in representing Eurovision Sport towards the relevant federations and events organizers such as World Athletics, European Athletics, World Aquatics, ASO or UCI and/or their appointed representatives.
- She/he supports efficient EBU Members involvement according to the Eurovision Sport strategy and in line with Management.
- The (Senior) Sports Rights Manager / Summer Sports ensures a top-level implementation of all contractual obligations and commercial elements in an efficient and service minded way
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in the sports rights industry and/or in editorial/programming of sports events broadcasting.
- Project management experience and certification.
- Interest and knowledge of sports events.
- Understanding of sports rights management.
- Knowledge/background in the sports media rights industry, preferably on major events.
- Intensive work period before and during staging of major events, high level of flexibility.
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
2-Head of Content Communications
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- 12+ years of professional related experience in an international environment.
- Knowledge of Europe’s media landscape and passion for public service media and all it stands for.
- Experience of leading and inspiring content teams to deliver high quality output.
- Experience of creating successful communications campaigns and compelling messages for different target audiences.
- Experience in defining, planning and implementing social media content strategies.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage productions/editorial schedules to ensure deadlines are met and within budget.
- Must be English native, with excellent writing skills. Knowledge of French a plus.
- Excellent social media skills and knowledge of social analytics tools.
- Familiarity with marketing techniques and good understanding of major marketing channels, as well as SEO and CRO.
- Experience with media relations with an existing good network of contacts.
- Positive inclusive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organisational ability.
- Team management experience, and team player.
