RCCD Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and understanding the entire scope of the assigned project and conducting installation process in compliance with the industry standards, conduction of site surveys, reading and following blueprints and cut-sheets and put to use termination and testing procedures on a daily basis.
- The technician will be able to use hand tools including test equipment, punch tools, as well as an array of other power tools including saws and hammer drills. This professional will perform various tasks such as pulling, testing and terminating fiber and copper cable, and termination and removal of all abandoned cables.
- Providing technical assistance with various tasks such as pulling, terminating and testing copper, and fiber cable.
- Collaboration with other teams on the installation of infrastructure-related activities.
- Taking charge of advanced testing and troubleshooting of both copper and optical fiber installations.
- The technician must examine and evaluate various applications of information and communications technology cabling installation (ICT). They derive solutions based on applicable codes, standards, and best practices. Technicians support cable tray and different other types of cable support hardware.
- Technicians perform site surveys while keeping track of blueprints, cut-sheets, and other relevant documentation. They generate both test and as-built reports.
- Maintains job inventory to ensure that operational needs of field and local offices are met.
- The position is physically demanding, involving lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with multiple levels of clients, technicians, professionals, and management personnel including interaction with clients to research and resolved problems serving as the single point of contact for vendors and providers.
- Produces daily/weekly/monthly activity reports and creates all required documentation (schematics, lists).
Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Telecommunication , Electronics, Electrical Diploma, or a related field.
- BICSI RCCD Certified Technicians are only considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Must be able to read, write and update cable plant infrastructure drawings and blue prints in English.
- Possessing a Kuwaiti valid driver's license is preferable .
