Job Opportunity: Academic Tutor - College of Arts and Sciences
About the Job:
Position Purpose:
The Academic Tutor will report directly to the Academic Success Center (ASC) coordinator at their campus. In this role, you will work with the coordinator and fellow tutors to enhance ASC programs and devise strategies to support students' academic and social growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tutoring and support to students.
- Oversee programs for Course Assistants, Peer Tutors, and Peer Mentors.
- Collaborate with students requiring additional academic support.
- Occasionally lead workshops, activities, and work closely with faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Support the Student Retention and Engagement Committee’s efforts by implementing various activities and strategies.
Required Skills:
- Strong tutoring skills with effective oral and written communication.
- Digital literacy and time-management skills.
- Good listening skills and a range of soft skills (coaching, empathy, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- English language proficiency; Arabic is a plus.
Working Hours:
- Minimum 4 hours of tutoring daily.
- Remaining time dedicated to managing, planning, and coordinating ASC and SREC programs.
- Full working hours are 9 hours with a 1-hour break (either from 9 am to 6 pm, or from 11 am to 8 pm).

الغرض من الوظيفة:
سيقوم المدرس الأكاديمي بالإشراف المباشر من منسق مركز النجاح الأكاديمي في الحرم الجامعي التابع له. في هذا الدور، ستعمل مع المنسق ومدرسين آخرين لتعزيز برامج المركز وتطوير استراتيجيات لدعم النمو الأكاديمي والاجتماعي للطلاب.
المسؤوليات:
- تقديم الدعم التعليمي والإرشادي للطلاب.
- الإشراف على برامج المساعدين الأكاديميين والموجهين الزملاء.
- التعاون مع الطلاب الذين يحتاجون إلى دعم أكاديمي إضافي.
- تنظيم ورش عمل وأنشطة والتعاون مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس في كلية الآداب والعلوم عند الحاجة.
- دعم جهود لجنة الاحتفاظ والمشاركة الطلابية من خلال تنفيذ استراتيجيات وأنشطة متنوعة.
المهارات المطلوبة:
- مهارات قوية في التدريس مع القدرة على التواصل الفعال شفهياً وكتابياً.
- الكفاءة الرقمية ومهارات إدارة الوقت.
- مهارات الاستماع ومجموعة من المهارات الشخصية (الإرشاد، التعاطف، إلخ).
المؤهلات:
- درجة البكالوريوس مطلوبة.
- إتقان اللغة الإنجليزية؛ ويفضل إتقان اللغة العربية.
ساعات العمل:
- 4 ساعات تدريسية يومياً كحد أدنى.
- باقي الوقت مخصص لإدارة وتخطيط وتنسيق برامج المركز ولجنة الاحتفاظ.
- ساعات العمل الكاملة 9 ساعات مع استراحة لمدة ساعة (إما من 9 صباحاً إلى 6 مساءً، أو من 11 صباحاً إلى 8 مساءً).
