Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead continuous improvements in the Transportation function as well as manage Key Performance Indicators to enhance performance. Your responsibilities will include managing transportation operations, both with internal teams and external providers. You will oversee import/export administrative activities and ensure compliance with ABB rules and external regulations in collaboration with local and country Trade Compliance Officers. You will also supervise the performance of customs brokers, ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities, including relevant documentation and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading end-to-end logistics processes, including transportation, freight forwarding, and logistics procurement to streamline operations.
- Ensuring timely pick-up and delivery, meeting target KPIs for minimizing transport damage and transit risk management.
- Monitoring daily import/export shipments and ensuring smooth customs clearance via appointed customs brokers.
- Acting as the point of contact for customs brokers for clarifications regarding valuation or classification of products.
- Understanding and applying relevant customs procedures and ensuring correct declarations are made.
- Auditing customs brokers for accuracy in customs entries, invoicing, and archiving.
- Maintaining customs-related records and documentation accurately.
- Managing necessary documentation and online forms for lawful execution of all import/export activities.
- Communicating with export and import-related authorities and suppliers to ensure efficient execution.
- Facilitating continuous review and improvement in operational transport and trade/customs activities.
- Supporting the development and implementation of improved processes and systems, maintaining master data.
- Resolving issues related to transport and logistics, collaborating with other departments for coordinated plans.
Qualifications for the role
- Preferably a Graduate engineer in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation with 6-8 years of experience in Sourcing in Project Business.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in end-to-end transport and logistics management, including import and export operations.
- Knowledge of international and domestic shipping and adept in Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong negotiation skills and contract management knowledge.
- Previous experience in Oil & Gas and Power & Water business is advantageous.
- Experience in SAP MM Module is preferable.
- Quick learner with multitasking ability, strong written and verbal communication skills, and good time management.
- Knowledge of English; Arabic is an added advantage.

- إدارة الوثائق الضرورية والنماذج عبر الإنترنت للتنفيذ القانوني لجميع أنشطة الاستيراد/التصدير.
- التواصل مع السلطات والموردين المعنيين بالتصدير والاستيراد لضمان التنفيذ الفعال.
- تسهيل المراجعة المستمرة والتحسين في الأنشطة التجارية والنقل/الجمارك.
- دعم تطوير وتنفيذ العمليات والأنظمة المحسنة، والحفاظ على البيانات الرئيسية.
- حل المشكلات المتعلقة بالنقل واللوجستيات، والتعاون مع الأقسام الأخرى لإنشاء خطط منسقة.
المؤهلات المطلوبة للدور
- يفضل أن يكون حاصلاً على شهادة بكاليوس في الهندسة الميكانيكية أو الكهربائية أوInstrumentation مع 6-8 سنوات من الخبرة في التوريد في الأعمال المشاريع.
- 5 إلى 10 سنوات من الخبرة في إدارة النقل واللوجستيات الشاملة، بما في ذلك عمليات الاستيراد والتصدير.
- معرفة بالشحن الدولي والمحلي وماهر في أنظمة إدارة النقل (TMS).
- مهارات تفاوض قوية ومعرفة بإدارة العقود.
- الخبرة السابقة في أعمال النفط والغاز ومياه الطاقة ميزة إضافية.
- الخبرة في وحدة SAP MM هي ميزة مفضلة.
