Registrar - Neurology
Job Description:
As a Neurology Registrar, you will handle medical cases in the Neurology department and patient wards, following department policies and procedures. You will be responsible for managing patients, conducting assessments, and ensuring proper treatment plans are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with patients presenting to the ER, ensuring adherence to ER policies and procedures.
- Provide first aid management for various medical emergencies.
- Communicate with Consultants or Specialists on duty for patient admissions and discuss management plans.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical exams, request and interpret investigations, and devise treatment plans before transferring patients to the ward.
- Notify external doctors about clinical data and follow their instructions for patient management.
- Independently perform lumbar puncture (LP) procedures.
- Conduct routine ward rounds, ensuring knowledge of patient complaints and adherence to case policies and procedures.
- Record clinical data and any treatment changes in the patient file, including time and date.
- Complete clinical notes for ER files and ensure proper handover between shifts.
- Participate in assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care needs.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health regulations, hospital bylaws, and department policies.
Requirements:
- Education: MBBS and Master’s Degree in Neurology.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-Master’s Degree experience in a relevant specialty.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of required organizational practices and patient safety standards.
- Familiarity with professional medical ethics and hospital bylaws.
- Proficiency in evidence-based patient care guidelines.
- Cultural competency, particularly regarding Kuwaiti patient culture and beliefs.
- AHA-certified Basic Life Support provider.

الوصف الوظيفي:
بصفتك مسجلًا في قسم أمراض الأعصاب، ستكون مسؤولًا عن التعامل مع الحالات الطبية في القسم وغرف المرضى، مع اتباع السياسات والإجراءات المعمول بها. ستكون مسؤولًا عن تقييم المرضى وتقديم خطط العلاج المناسبة.
المسؤوليات الرئيسية:
- إجراء مقابلات مع المرضى القادمين إلى قسم الطوارئ والتأكد من اتباع السياسات والإجراءات المعمول بها.
- تقديم الإسعافات الأولية للحالات الطارئة وفقًا للإجراءات.
- التواصل مع الاستشاريين أو الأخصائيين في حال دخول المرضى، ومناقشة خطة العلاج.
- أخذ التاريخ الطبي للمرضى، وإجراء الفحوصات البدنية، وطلب وتفسير الفحوصات اللازمة وتقديم خطط العلاج قبل تحويل المرضى إلى القسم.
- إبلاغ الأطباء الخارجيين بتفاصيل الحالة السريرية ومتابعة تعليماتهم.
- إجراء عمليات البزل القطني بشكل مستقل.
- إجراء جولات روتينية على المرضى، ومعرفة شكاويهم والالتزام بسياسات وإجراءات كل حالة.
- تسجيل البيانات السريرية وأي تغييرات في التعليمات العلاجية في ملف المريض مع تحديد الوقت والتاريخ.
- إكمال الملاحظات السريرية لملفات قسم الطوارئ والتأكد من تسليم الحالات بين نوبات العمل.
- المشاركة في تقييم احتياجات رعاية المرضى وتخطيطها وتنفيذها وتقييمها.
- التأكد من الامتثال للوائح وزارة الصحة، والقوانين الداخلية للمستشفى، والسياسات والإرشادات الخاصة بقسم الطوارئ.
المتطلبات:
- التعليم: درجة البكالوريوس في الطب والجراحة، وماجستير في أمراض الأعصاب.
- الخبرة: خبرة لا تقل عن سنة واحدة بعد الماجستير في تخصص ذي صلة.
- المهارات:
- مهارات اتصال قوية.
- معرفة بالمعايير التنظيمية المطلوبة ومعايير سلامة المرضى.
- إلمام بأخلاقيات المهنة والقوانين الطبية للمستشفى.
- الكفاءة في رعاية المرضى بناءً على الأدلة الطبية المعتمدة.
- معرفة الثقافة والمعتقدات الخاصة بالمرضى الكويتيين.
- شهادة دعم الحياة الأساسية المعتمدة من AHA.
