Lead Safety Engineer
About the Job: Petroplan is seeking a Lead Safety Engineer on behalf of our EPC client to manage and uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across all stages of major Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems, ensuring compliance with regional and international standards. Attractive relocation, visa, and package details will be discussed upon consideration.
Job Purpose: The Lead Safety Engineer will ensure the effective implementation of HSE systems, driving continuous improvements, and maintaining strict adherence to regional and international HSE standards throughout all project phases.
Skills & Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience in HSE management within the Oil & Gas sector, with significant exposure to Middle Eastern projects.
- HSE Knowledge: Strong understanding of regional and international HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring Safety Engineers across various project phases.
Certifications and Professional Qualifications:
- Must hold at least one recognized HSE qualification from a professional association, such as NEBOSH, CSP, ASP, CMIOSH, or an equivalent certification.
- At least one certification in HSE standards, such as ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, or ASSE Certificate in Global Safety Management.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 series standards, with practical experience in implementing these standards in Oil & Gas environments.
- Familiarity with risk assessment processes, hazard analysis techniques, and safety audit procedures in line with international and industry standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of effective communication across teams and project stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects while ensuring HSE standards are maintained throughout the entire project lifecycle.

- المعرفة في HSE: فهم قوي للقوانين واللوائح والممارسات الفضلى في مجال الصحة والسلامة والبيئة على المستوى الإقليمي والدولي.
- القيادة: خبرة مثبتة في قيادة وتوجيه مهندسي السلامة عبر مراحل المشروع المختلفة.
الشهادات والمؤهلات المهنية:
- يجب أن يكون المتقدم حاملاً لشهادة معترف بها في مجال HSE من جمعية مهنية، مثل NEBOSH أو CSP أو ASP أو CMIOSH، أو شهادة معادلة.
- شهادة واحدة على الأقل في معايير HSE، مثل مدقق رئيسي في ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001، NEBOSH، أو شهادة ASSE في إدارة السلامة العالمية.
المهارات التقنية:
- معرفة شاملة بمعايير ISO 9000 و ISO 14000، مع خبرة عملية في تنفيذ هذه المعايير في بيئات النفط والغاز.
- معرفة بأساليب تقييم المخاطر، وتقنيات تحليل المخاطر، وإجراءات تدقيق السلامة وفقاً للمعايير الدولية ومعايير الصناعة.
