Safety, Health, and Environment Manager

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Advise The Bridge Company members on all aspects of Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E;).
·Set up SH&E;meetings as per company policy.
nsure implementation and compliance of The Bridge Company’s SH&E;policy, making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow all safety policies.
Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting SH&E;and safe working practices in the workplace.
Conduct/organize relevant SH&E;training for staff as required, including first aid
and fire safety.
Conduct all risk assessments as required and review risk assessments at appropriate intervals and maintain records of them.
Conduct & carryout internal and compliance audits of all The Bridge Company sites; report on findings and manage issue log through to completion.
Carry out all risk assessments and special assessments for each The Bridge Company site as required by the project.
Coordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives for all The Bridge Company sites.
Recommend & implement control measures and advise on the standard of PPE issued to employees.
Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and record the findings on the relevant forms.
Conduct SH&E;inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
Identify areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by law or contract requirements. Arrange such training/certification once identified.
Keep up to date with changes in current law and implement such changes where relevant, and notify management teams.
Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of the law to facilitate implementation within the organization.
Liaise with the Program Managers to establish contractor SH&E;procedures.
Immediately contact the management teams if situations are found, that in the opinion of the SH&E;Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.
Provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies and critical issues.
Any other SH&E;duties as required.

Education Requirements:
Must speak, read, and write English proficiently.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred but not required.
2+ years of prior experience leading a team of people
Experience Requirements
5-10 years’ experience working with Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems, and implementation of safety programs.
Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with all internal organization departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
Strong coordination and organizational skills, with a strict emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Advanced knowledge of safety programs.
Must have the ability to work within strict deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Supervision of safe storage and verification of all project-related documentation, both paper documents, and electronic files.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Leading and implementing change.
