Position Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Saturday to Thursday)
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Job Summary:
An Electrician is a trained professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves working on a variety of tasks from fixing household appliances to implementing large-scale electrical projects. The ideal candidate should be technically skilled, safety-conscious, and able to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Key Responsbilities:
Installing Electrical Systems: Install electrical wiring, fixtures, and distribution equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, following blueprints and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.
Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and respond to emergency calls for repairs. Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices and make necessary repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults in electrical apparatus and wiring, and troubleshoot various electrical problems from lighting fixtures to industrial equipment.
Ensuring Safety: Ensure all installations and repairs are safe and meet the electrical code requirements. Advise on and implement safety measures for installation and equipment operations.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs. Prepare reports and documentation as required.
Customer Service: Communicate with clients, understand their requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Continual Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest electrical standards, technology, and safety procedures through continuous education and professional development.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as an electrician.
Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
Valid license to practice the profession.
