Quality Assurance Specialist
About the job
TABCo. Food currently operates 17 Elevation Burger units in Kuwait, with over 230 team members. TABCo Food is actively expanding and growing Elevation Burger in Kuwait. TABCo’s growth will continue by introducing new food concepts and brands that comply with its mission to advance the region’s food experience with smarter and sustainable choices.
The Role
The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for all quality issues relating to food safety, product specifications and hygiene throughout all Elevation Burger Stores. Accountable for ensuring compliance to critical brand standards in regard to environmental and sustainability requirements. To support key initiatives, produce periodic reports, and support in reviewing compliance and best practice standards.
The Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective quality systems to improve product conformance and food safety in line with ISO quality and Food Safety Standards.
Drive continuous improvement through the procurement, production and storage processes by refining the sampling/ testing/ approval of procured materials, enhancing vendor compliance, monitoring and aiding in improving production, storing and FSQA processes.
Ensure documentation of Food Safety and Quality Assurance procedures, guidelines, and work instructions are reviewed regularly and updated to reflect changes as per needs of TABCo Food or changes in Quality standards.
Ensure implementation of HACCP program and maintain all regulatory documentation for ensuring compliance.
Responsible for all tracking of KPI’s associated with Quality & Sanitation.
Lead investigation of non-conformances and customer complaints to determine root causes, provide responses, and determine corrective and/or preventative actions.
Conduct regular inspection of sanitation procedures and to assess compliance to quality standards and timely rectification of identified quality risks.
Conduct quality checks on fresh food, stored cold and dry food, raw ingredients used during food production process to assess quality and compliance to food safety standards ·
Monitor closely shelf life of stored food - Meat, Vegetables, Dairy, dry ingredients and disposal of damaged stock to identify non-conformance to Quality Standards. ·
Maintain all required documentation and records, including production records, cleaning documentation, time and temperature charts, and employee training for reference of external inspectors.
Oversee proper use of production equipment and their maintenance to ensure safety of workers.
The Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Food Science or Food Technology
5-7 years’ experience in quality control/quality assurance in the food industry.
Excellent communication skills
Industry knowledge of HACCP, USDA, FDA, food safety inspection and management standards
Experience in evaluating, implementing and maintaining quality process.
Ability to develop, review and maintain metrics and perform quality audits.
