Social Media Officer
About the Job
American International University - Kuwait City
The Social Media Officer will perform a variety of tasks that revolve around social media. They will have access to the AIU social media channels and will be able to post approved content. They are expected to cover social media and related tasks to grow our channels through engaging and proactive content. The Social Media Officer is responsible for tracking, maintaining, and growing the University's brand level social media presence across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant channels, via organic social activity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a productive and resourceful member of the department.
- Work with the team to develop a social media coverage plan for various events and activities on or off campus.
- Produce ideas for engaging content and create plans for implementation.
- Shoot, produce, and edit social media posts daily for Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Research and report on the latest trends and provide suggestions to boost organic growth across all channels.
- Manage content and suggest effective cross-platform use of content.
- Review engagement via comments, likes, impressions, and other simple analytics, and create concise reports for the team to review.
- Maintain content standards on all platforms and align content with the values and mission of AIU.
- Keep up to date with activities and comments from students, parents, and the general public, and report back on noteworthy activity.
- Support the department on other projects beyond social media when required.
- Provide translations for social media content and confidently post approved content in Arabic.
- Maintain confidentiality on all aspects of the position and the subject matter handled by the department.
- Participate in outreach activities both on and off campus, at fairs, exhibitions, and schools, to capture high-quality images and videos to be shared on social channels.
- Other duties assigned.
Skills:
- Must possess skills to explain and demonstrate the essential functions of the position.
- Proven record in handling social media channels.
- Fully bilingual. Fluent in Arabic and English with the ability to communicate ideas and information clearly at all levels within the University and to the community.
- Outgoing personality with a strong work ethic.
- Strong presentation, listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks, be detail-oriented, and work independently or as part of a team, completing job duties and assignments with general supervision while managing multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Demonstrated competency in the application and implementation of technology, particularly social media.
- Proficient in standard software applications.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution required.
- Demonstrated experience using computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, social media, and database management.
- At least two years of experience in an office environment.
- Demonstrated experience denoting excellent follow-up, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Experience interacting with multiple constituents; demonstrating flexibility, a pleasant demeanor, a professional appearance, and the ability to deal with changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and a wide variety of personalities.

- مراجعة التفاعل من خلال التعليقات والإعجابات والانطباعات وغيرها من التحليلات البسيطة، وإنشاء تقارير موجزة للفريق للمراجعة.
- الحفاظ على معايير المحتوى على جميع المنصات ومواءمة المحتوى مع قيم ورسالة الجامعة الأمريكية الدولية.
- متابعة الأنشطة والتعليقات من الطلاب وأولياء الأمور والجمهور العام والإبلاغ عن الأنشطة الملحوظة.

- المشاركة في الأنشطة الترويجية داخل الحرم الجامعي وخارجه، في المعارض والمدارس، لالتقاط صور وفيديوهات عالية الجودة لمشاركتها على القنوات الاجتماعية.
- أداء أي مهام أخرى موكلة.
المهارات:
- يجب أن يمتلك مهارات لشرح وإظهار الوظائف الأساسية للوظيفة.
- سجل مثبت في التعامل مع قنوات التواصل الاجتماعي.
- ثنائي اللغة بالكامل. طلاقة في العربية والإنجليزية مع القدرة على التواصل بأفكار ومعلومات واضحة على جميع المستويات داخل الجامعة وللمجتمع.
- شخصية منفتحة مع أخلاقيات عمل قوية.
- مهارات قوية في العرض والاستماع والتواصل الكتابي والشفهي.
- القدرة على تنظيم المهام، والانتباه للتفاصيل، والعمل بشكل مستقل أو كجزء من فريق، وإكمال واجبات العمل والمشاريع والمهام تحت إشراف عام مع إدارة عدة مهام في وقت واحد.
