Position: API Gateway Developer (Layer 7)

Responsibilities

As an API Gateway Developer, you will design, develop, and manage secure and scalable APIs, ensuring high performance and compliance with security standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

API Development & Management:
- Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable APIs.
- Implement API versioning, documentation, and governance best practices.
- Work with Broadcom Layer 7 APIGW for API development, configuration, and deployment.
- Manage API lifecycle, including publishing, monitoring, and deprecating APIs.
- Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, API security standards, and access control mechanisms.
Microservices & Backend Development:
- Develop and optimize microservices-based applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement RESTful APIs with efficient data handling and integration with databases.
- Develop API-based integrations with Kafka, ActiveMQ, and messaging protocols.
- Ensure best practices in unit testing, performance testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Database & Security Management:
- Design and manage relational databases like Oracle and MS SQL.
- Implement X509 certificates, cryptographic security (OpenSSL, KSE), and encryption/decryption methods.
- Apply OWASP security principles to safeguard API endpoints against vulnerabilities.
Collaboration & Documentation:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth API integration and deployment.
Document API specifications, microservices architecture, and security policies.
Implement best practices for logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting API performance issues.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills:

3+ years of hands-on experience in API design, development, and architecture.
Strong experience with API Management Platforms (Broadcom Layer 7 APIGW, Apigee, Kong, Mulesoft, etc.).
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services.
Hands-on experience in OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, API security best practices.
Strong experience in JSON Path, JSON Schema Validation, XPath, XSLT, and messaging protocols.
Experience with Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, MS SQL, and database design.
Understanding of cryptography concepts, asymmetric and symmetric encryption/decryption.
Hands-on experience with OpenSSL, KSE, or similar security tools.
Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG) and performance testing.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
Knowledge of continuous integration, pair programming, and test-driven development (TDD).
Experience with API analytics, logging, and monitoring tools.
