• Dar Al Shifa Hospital is 230 bedded accredited facility constitutes of inpatient rooms (Imperial, Royal, Junior and Standard), labour rooms, neonatal units, Intensive Care Units, Operation Theatres, Emergency Room, Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Outpatient clinics and sub-specialized medical/surgical fields. Phlebotomist

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

• Venipuncture and blood collection
• Provides appropriate containers for non-blood samples (as urine, stool, semen) to the clients
• Conforms to laboratory’s policies and procedures for collection and handling of specimens, including proper patient identification, labeling, matching requested with invoiced tests, safety and waste disposal, in addition to infection control measures
• Immediately transfers collected samples to data-entry desk
• Answers inquiries related to test requisitions,sample types and volumes and patient preparation requirements

• Secures respective consents from patient, whenever required
• Participates in sample collection from home
• Organizes phlebotomy rooms and organization and refilling of phlebotomy table
• Responsible to provide patient and family-centered care.
• Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.

Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.

Qualifications, Competences and Skills

Education

• Nursing Diploma

Training:

• Training on updated venipuncture standards and techniques.
• Training on relatedaccreditation standards.
• Communication skills training
• Training on safety and infection control requirements

Experience

• 2+ years of recent experience

• بزل الوريد وجمع الدم
• توفير حاويات مناسبة للعينات غير الدموية (مثل البول والبراز والسائل المنوي) للعملاء
• يتوافق مع سياسات وإجراءات المختبر لجمع العينات ومعالجتها، بما في ذلك تحديد هوية المريض بشكل صحيح، ووضع العلامات، والمطابقة المطلوبة مع الاختبارات المفوترة، والسلامة والتخلص من النفايات، بالإضافة إلى تدابير مكافحة العدوى
