Purpose:
The Bodyshop Supervisor oversees the operations of an automotive body repair shop, ensuring high-quality repair work and efficient workflow.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate activities within the body repair shop, including overseeing technicians and ensuring quality standards.
  • Ensure customer service and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of body repair technicians, painters, and other shop staff.
  • Assign work based on skill levels and job priority.
  • Train staff in the latest repair techniques and safety practices.
  • Monitor and review work performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the body shop, ensuring efficient workflow and minimizing downtime.
  • Inspect vehicles to evaluate repair needs based on customer requests and damage assessments.
  • Ensure all repair work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain work schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with customers to provide updates on repair progress, timelines, and costs.
  • Handle customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues.
  • Provide estimates for repair jobs and ensure transparency in pricing and procedures.
  • Conduct final quality checks on vehicles before they are returned to customers.
  • Ensure all repairs meet company and industry standards for safety and aesthetics.
  • Oversee compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
  • Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for repairs.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Order replacement parts and materials as needed while managing costs and minimizing waste.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the shop.
  • Ensure all technicians follow proper safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Prepare reports on shop performance, productivity, and profitability for management review.
  • Accountable for qualitative and quantitative operations of the body shop.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
