Scope and Purpose
The Purchasing Officer will seek to obtain high-quality merchandise at the lowest possible cost for the University. This role is responsible for ensuring that goods and services meet university specifications and provide the best value.
Job Responsibilities (Not All Inclusive)
- Monitor and evaluate global prices, suppliers, and vendors based on price, quality, and service.
- Assist in finding suitable suppliers by reviewing catalogs, trade journals, and industry publications.
- Purchase, rent, or provide supplies, materials, equipment, or contractual services for the University.
- Handle travel ticket bookings and negotiate favorable arrangements.
- Establish standards for quality, purchase methods, and the distribution of supplies and materials.
- Manage vendor relationships, update databases, and track orders using the Banner system.
- Prepare purchase orders, L/Cs, bank documents, and stock reports.
- Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance during audits.
- Draft and review contracts with suppliers and vendors before approval.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, proficiency in MS Office (Excel), and procurement software.
- Certifications: Certifications like CPP or CPSM are a plus but not mandatory.

المؤهلات

- التعليم: درجة البكالوريوس في إدارة الأعمال أو إدارة سلسلة التوريد أو اللوجستيات أو المجالات ذات الصلة.
- المهارات: معرفة قوية بإجراءات المشتريات، إجادة استخدام MS Office (Excel) وبرامج المشتريات.
