Executive Chef - R&D
Food People are working with a leading restaurant operator in their search for an R&D Executive Chef to oversee the culinary development for the business. This position will be heavily focused on creativity, menu development, and the opportunity to be instrumental in developing new items as well as enhancing the current menus across the business.
The role will be reporting to the CEO, and you will be ensuring that menus are kept up to date in line with future trends, as well as ensuring the quality of food offered across this business is consistent and of the highest quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design new menus and introduce new concepts and creative cuisines of the highest quality to ensure that the business is always at the forefront of new culinary innovation.
- Ensure that food quality is consistent with company standards by conducting frequent quality checks of dishes to ensure that the kitchen is providing the best service possible.
- Introduce new menu items and enhance the existing menus.
- Work to create new products and ensure that menus are up to date in line with current trends.
- Ensure that potential new products can be manufactured profitably and meet food safety requirements.
- Identify market niches and opportunities into which existing products could be adapted and new products developed.
- Standardize recipes and SOPs across the business and develop recipe templates.
KEY INGREDIENTS
- Passion and drive for the restaurant industry.
- 10+ years of culinary experience within well-known restaurant or hospitality companies.
- Experience specifically within R&D and menu development is essential.
- Experience in new concept creation would be advantageous.
- Experience in creating and implementing SOPs.
- Experience within the GCC is essential.
