Role Overview
As the Government Affairs Lead, you will design and execute strategies that build trust with government entities, policymakers, and regulators. Operating within a lean, cross-functional startup environment, your agility and creativity will be key to navigating ambiguity and advancing our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a government affairs strategy aligned with business priorities across the country. Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders at national, regional, and local levels. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, providing actionable insights to internal teams. Advocate for policies that promote innovation while managing operational risks. Collaborate closely with legal, communications, and business teams to ensure aligned outreach. Represent Meituan in industry forums and policy discussions. Address regulatory challenges proactively and support early-stage initiatives with regulatory guidance.
Qualifications

10+ years in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory roles, preferably in tech, telecom, or digital services

Deep understanding of national political dynamics and legislative processes

Established network with government institutions and policymakers

Strong analytical skills to translate regulations into business impacts

Proven ability to work independently in unstructured environments

Exceptional communication skills in English and the local language; Arabic fluency is a plus

Advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or related field preferred
